8 Tabriz Political Prisoners

Tabriz prison has a capacity of 2500 prisoners, but there are more than 5,000 prisoners who are held in Tabriz prison.

Because of this capacity overload, a great number of prisoners are denied of basic rights and have not a correct place for sleeping.

The following list reports the name of 8 political prisoners. It contains one civil activist prisoner and 7 Turkish (Azari) prisoners.

  1. Mohammed Jarahi, civil activist, sentenced to 5 years in prison, accused of Acting against national security by establishing an illegal group, Held in ward eight of Occupational Therapy
  2. Ayat Mehr Ali Biglou, Azari activist, sentenced to 8 years in prison, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System,  Held in ward 15
  3. Rasoul Razavi, Azari activist, sentenced to 1 year in prison, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System, Held in ward 15
  4. Morteza Morad Pour, Azari activist, sentenced to 3 years in prison, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System, Held in ward 12
  5. Hossein Ali Mohammadi Alvar, Azari activist, sentenced to 5 years in prison, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System, Held in ward 12
  6. Naghi Ahmadi Azar Moghadam, Azari activist, sentenced to 5 years in prison, Banned from leaving the country during 10 years, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System and spying for Azarbaijan, Held in ward 12
  7. Behboud Gholizadeh, Azari activist, sentenced to 9 years in prison, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System, Held in ward 4
  8. Ata Farsad, Azari activist, sentenced to 2, 1/2 years in prison, accused of Acting against national security, propaganda against the System and social networks activities, Held in ward 11
